Actor-"comedian" Anthony Anderson (All About the Andersons, Daddy Day Care) has been charged with aggravated assault, along with assistant director Wayne Witherspoon on the set of their hip-hop film "Hustle & Flow." They were charged by a 25-year-old female extra, who says she was fondled and forced to strip for nude photos until she fled the trailer unclothed when the attack was interrupted by a passerby. Anderson's publicist says he's "a happily married family man" and "absolutely denies the heinous charges."

A life-sized statue of Bob Hartley was erected today in downtown Chicago (430 N. Michigan), the character played by Bob Newhart on The Bob Newhart show. Newhart himself was at the TVLand-sponsored event, where he was interviewed by Matt Lauer and other journos.

New and creepy developments have arisen in Michael Jackson's trial. His former publicist (although she only worked for him for 3 weeks) testified against him, describing the hurried efforts to cover up everything, um, icky in the circus that is Michael's life. Apparently this began immediately after the Martin Bashir documentary aired. The documentary is said to have kicked off the basis for the trial, and it is likely that Michael's accuser is the boy who discussed in those interviews that Jacko had slept with him. After the show aired, the Jacko troops allegedly attempted to kidnap the boy and his family to prevent them from--who knows? Pressing charges? Being interviewed? Whatever, the whole thing is crazy. I mean crazier than usual.
